Support for the Zamalin – Sovlje promenade

A MJESNO PODUZEĆE HAS BEEN AWARDED A GRANT OF 528,290.00 HRK FOR THE ZAMALIN-SOVLJE PROMENADE

It's confirmed! Today, we received from the Fisheries Directorate the final Decision on the allocation of funds under Measure III.3. "Implementation of local development strategies - operations supported by FLAGs" for the programming period 2014-2020. which approved the maximum amount of support of 528,290.00 HRK from the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund through the Operational Programme for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries for the project "Construction of the Zamalin Sovlje Recreational and Educational Trail - Phase 1", of which the EU contribution is 85%, or 449,046.50 HRK, and the Republic of Croatia's contribution is 15%, or 79,243.50 HRK.

We applied for the project “Construction of the Zamalin Sovlje Recreational and Educational Trail – Phase 1” in June 2020 under measure 2.1.1. Development of socio-cultural content related to the local fishing and maritime heritage of the LAGUR “Galeb”. The aim of the project was to promote the fishing heritage and customs with a coastal recreational and educational trail 1600 meters long and also connect Tribunj with the Sovlje bay, known for its long-standing traditional shipbuilding.

MUNICIPAL EQUIPMENT ON THE PROMENADE

The communal equipment on the promenade carries the entire project because its appearance and finish present the importance of local fishing for Tribunj. As part of the project, the following was installed along the trail:

  • 11 benches made of natural material with engraved verses of folk songs about Tribunj,
  • 4 signposts in the shape of fishing needles (eels) pointing to the islands in the Tribunj archipelago (Logorun, Lukovnjak and Sovjak), Tribunj sights (the centre, the old stone bridge, the church of St. Nicholas on the hill of the same name), natural and historical sights in the county (Kornati National Park, Krka National Park and Šibenik fortresses) and places in Tribunj related to fish and fishing (the shipyard in Sovlja, the fishing port and the wholesale fish market),
  • 9 waste bins with engraved fish caught in this area, binoculars on the lookout from which fishing boats can be observed as they sail out or enter the Tribunj port,
  • 11 info-educational boards providing written and digital information information about the fishing heritage of the Tribunj region.

While we are waiting for the submission of the request for the payment of funds, we are simultaneously planning to apply for new measures in order to withdraw more grants from the European Union and invest them in finishing the upper layer of the track and lighting it along its entire length.
